Starting today, a rare compilation will be unveiled by top musicians who are joining their creative forces in support of Japan. The 100-song album features artists such as Tori Amos, Ani DiFranco, Wolf Parade and more.  SOLFJ is a three-day, 72-hour sale of great music for a great cause. The cornerstone of the sale is a $100 compilation of 100 rare and unique songs donated from 100 leading artists. There are also changes to win gift concert tickets, signed CDs and other one-of-a-kind items to purchasers of the 100 song compilation throughout the three-day sale. For those that still want to help Japan but lack $100,  there will also be a sampling of 20 great songs for $20

100% of SOLFJ‘s net proceeds will be donated to ShelterBox, a charity committed to helping the survivors of the catastrophe. Every $1,000 raised will allow ShelterBox to deliver emergency shelter and life-saving equipment to an afflicted family. A ShelterBox typically includes a tent, blankets, water storage and purification equipment, cooking utensils, a stove, a basic tool kit, a children’s activity pack and other  essential items. We chose ShelterBox because we think it is one of the most effective and efficient charities working in Japan today.

Support Japan today and get some exclusive tunes! Rumor has it that additional artists, like The xx, will be added as well.
