Welcome back to the weekly column “Tap This,” where our editors report on their top picks of the week.  Untapped editor Min explores the soon-to-be next Untapped Cities hub. Stay tuned for the launch of Untapped Singapore. For now, here’s where she’s been and what she’s been up to!

What I’m Drinking: A double-shot skinny latte, prepared extra hot and extra pretty from 40 Hands cafe in Tiong Bahru. I’ve found this to be one of the best in Singapore so far.

The most Untapped thing I did this week:  I went to a pop-up coffee tasting room, called The Steeping Room, with fellow editor Ted Lin. We tried two different types of coffee prepared filter-dripped: one from El Salvador and the other from Panama. The barista allowed us to smell the coffee beans in three stages: pre-ground, ground, and then wet. The coffees were amazing and the overall experience was phenomenal.

Most Untapped thing I’ll be doing next week:  Going for a Peranakan cultural tour with museum curator, Randall Ee, who will also be a contributor for UntappedSingapore.

What I’m Reading:  Angela’s Ashes by Frank McCourt, which was made into a movie, depicts a sad, funny, bittersweet memoir of growing up in New York in the 30s and in Ireland in the 40s. Am up to chapter five and it has given me a couple of laughs and evoked some tears as well.

What I’m using: I am using a  Canon G12 10MP Digital Camera  that was given to me last Christmas. I bring it with me everywhere because it’s so easy to use and makes my shots look close to professional.
