Welcome back to “Tap This,” where our editors report on their top picks of the week. Untapped Managing Editor, Alley Lyles, reports on…

My favorite app these days: Flipboard, a “pocket-sized magazine” which showcases photographs and stories from my Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Untapped Cities. Additionally, it pulls from my designated publications which include National Geographic, Wired, and Vogue. Also available for iPad.

My new spots in New York: As I reported in my previous “Tap This” article, I am a music nut. Lately, I have been exploring New York by attending indie and jazz shows at the Bowery Ballroom (Manhattan), The Tea Lounge (Brooklyn) and Cafe Vivaldi (Manhattan).

What I am listening to on my iPad: Sbtrakt and The Kills. Both bands are slated to perform upcoming shows in New York. Sbtrakt will be playing at Webster Hall; The Kills, at Terminal 5.

What I am reading: At the beginning of January, I started an internship working as a Digital Media Planner in Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s NYC Digital office. I began reading Likeable Social Media to help inform the content I will be creating for the NYC Digital and Untapped Cities.

My new favorite blog (other than Untapped Cities, of course): Pret a Voyager. It is a blog centered on the tales and experiences of globetrotters. The website inspires me to travel in the near future. Plus, Untapped Cities Founder Michelle Young was featured in an article titled, “Boarding Pass – Michelle Young of Untapped Cities.”
