13. Screaming Mimi’s
The very eclectic and wonderful Screaming Mimi’s opened its doors in 1978 at 382 Lafayette Street in Noho, as a resource for film, TV, theater – and all vintage fashionista’s out there. Their Lafayette Street building was sold, and a search for a new location led them to Chelsea, where the new shop opened its doors this week. Screaming Mimi’s Chelsea is located on the parlor floor of 240 West 14th Street, between 7th-8th Avenues. The 382 Lafayette Street location will stay open through Halloween.
