7. Empire State Building (1,250 feet)


It’s a real testament to the Empire State Building, opened in 1931, that it remains in the top 10 tallest buildings in the city, despite it being built almost a hundred years ago. Despite the resurgence of observation decks in the construction of new buildings, the Empire State Building contains a 103rd floor observation deck that is closed to the public.
