The owners of The Corner Bookstore purchased the 1890s brownstone as a “handyman special” and opened their doors in 1978. They have thrived in the historic Carnegie Hill neighborhood  ever since, with a wide selection of adult and children’s books, a wide ranging calendar of events with scheduled author readings and signings. The Corner Bookstore is located at 1313 Madison Avenue at 93rd Street.
