When enough people share a hobby there will invariably be places which pop up as the best places for enthusiasts to visit. Gambling is one of the oldest hobbies in the book, and it’s a hobby which is shared among millions of people around the world. As a result, if you’re looking to check out the very best casinos in the world you may have a little bit of traveling to do.
However, if you’re traveling across the world to engage in one of your favorite hobbies, it can be extremely rewarding getting out and seeing a few of the local sites. You can go to Vegas and play Blackjack to your heart’s content (be sure to get your game up to scratch with this academy style quiz), but that’s like going to Egypt and not seeing the Great Pyramid of Giza – sure the scuba was fun, but you can’t help but feel like you’ve missed a trick here. If you’re looking to get the greatest value out of your trip, here are a few extra places you can stop by while you’re in the area.

Macau is home not only the largest casino in the world, but also the second largest. It also has the fourth, sixth and seventh largest casinos in the world, so in case it wasn’t entirely apparent, gambling in Macau is a bit of a big deal. You can quite easily spend your entire holiday casino-hopping and you aren’t likely to be bored along the way.

When you aren’t spending time at The Venetian or the City of Dreams Resort, there are plenty of other things you can do to get away to and stretch your legs. For those of you looking to soak in a little culture and history, the Historic Centre of Macau is full of 16th century Portuguese buildings that are worth visiting. This UNESCO World Heritage Site even contains the Ruins of St Paul’s – Macau’s best known landmarks outside of the gambling world.
