10 Trump Buildings You Can Find in NYC

Golf courses, luxury hotels and commercial properties comprise just a small portion of the Trump Organization’s extensive Real Estate Portfolio. With heat from the presidential election still lingering, we thought it would be appropriate to take a look at some of the Trump-owned buildings you can find all over New York City.

10. Trump International Hotel & Tower, 1 Central Park W

Although the Trump International Hotel & Tower is owned by the General Electric Pension Trust, it is the flagship property of Trump’s Hotel Collection. The 52-story high-rise building, located on Columbus Circle, was originally known as the Gulf and Western Building and intended to be used as office space before Trump sought to convert it into a hotel. Between 1995 and 1997, the building was stripped and redesigned with a new facade. Today, it encompasses 167 guest rooms and suites, a three-start Michelin rated restaurant, Jean Georges, and a spa, among a number of other amenities.

This 71-story skyscraper, identifiable by its green pyramidal roof, was very briefly the tallest building in the world. It held the title from April 1930 to May 1930, until the Chrysler Building surpassed it in height. In 1995, Trump purchased the classic Art Deco property, which once served as the headquarters of the Bank of Manhattan, and renamed it The Trump Building. It is now used as a commercial office building.

8. 1290 Avenue of the Americas

1290 Avenue of the Americas spans an entire block between 51st and 52nd Street in Midtown. Built in 1963-64 and designed by architectural firm Emery Roth & Sons, the building includes two concourse levels and 43 stories of office space. In 2012-13, it was renovated by architects Moed de Armas & Shannon.

Another Midtown high-rise, the Trump Tower is a 58-story (top floor marked 68), mixed-use building that serves as the headquarters for The Trump Organization. It is home to retail businesses, office space and luxury apartments, as well as Donald Trump‘s primary penthouse condominium. The all-glass structure, completed in 1983, includes three dining facilities (Trump Grill, Trump Bar and Trump Cafe), a 60-foot waterfall and privately owned public spaces (POPs).

6. Trump SoHo, 246 Spring St.

If you’re looking for a glamorous NYC suite, Trump Soho (now known as The Dominick) is the answer. The 46-story luxury hotel is comprised of 391 rooms and amenities like a garden courtyard, a seasonal pool deck, and The Spa at Trump™, which features New York’s only private luxury hammam experience. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide expansive views of the Statue of Liberty, the city skyline and the Hudson River.

5. Trump Park Avenue, 502 Park Ave.

Delmonico Hotel 

In 2002, the famous Delmonico hotel was converted into Trump Park Avenue, a 35-story residential complex, featuring 120 luxury condominiums. The range of apartments include one bedrooms, to full-floor suites, and a penthouse. Since it was built it 1929, it has also housed the Viceroy Hotel (later Cromwell Arms) and is identifiable by its pre-war architecture.

4. Trump World Tower, 327 E 47th St.

In Midtown, next to the United Nations Headquarters, you can find a 90-story, glass skyscraper and a public plaza. This relatively new building, which was constructed in 2001, is comprised of 376 apartments, spread out across 72 floors. Along with its luxury living quarters, it is also home to a private spa and health club, a world-class restaurant (Megu), and a 60-foot pool.

3. Trump Palace, 200 E 69th St.

In 1991, the 55-story Trump Palace was constructed on the Upper East Side. It is currently the tallest building in the neighborhood with 283 apartments. Before Trump purchased the granite structure in 1985, it was previously occupied by the New York Foundling Hospital. Over the years, many have criticized its design, which was intended to resemble Art Deco buildings from the 1920s and 30s. The New York Times has described it has a “hangover” from the ’80s.


2. Trump Parc, 106 Central Park S.

Located right next to Central Park, the 38-story building that now houses Trump Parc was built in 1929 originally as the Barbizon Plaza Hotel. It now contains 340 luxury apartments, including full floor penthouses. Trump Parc East is the adjoining 14-story edifice. Initially, Trump intended to replace both structures with a new building.

This 1925 property was home to the Mayfair Hotel before it was converted into a residential complex. It currently houses a historic lobby and 70 condominiums decorated in pre-war stylings.
