On this unique urban adventure, paddle along the canal as you learn its history, the way its been restored, and local environmentalism in Brooklyn. Since 1999 the Gowanus Dredgers have empowered people to care for the Gowanus Canal through advocacy, conservation, and education. This event is part of a 10-day outdoor adventure festival in the five boroughs of New York City.

Attend a unique concert experience inside St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or one of the other locations participating in the Chelsea Music Festival. This evening, two concerts will showcase the musical talent of musicians paying homage to German composer Clara Schumann in honor of the 200th anniversary of her birth, which is the theme of the festival. Celebrate the 26th annual Bus Festival hosted by the New York Transit Museum at Brooklyn Bridge Park! This free event will allow you to step aboard buses from the museum’s vintage fleet, representing more than 80 years of New York City surface transit history. There will be special activities and photo ops and the chance to meet some of the bus drivers who help keep our city moving, all while taking in the view of the Manhattan skyline from Bridge Plaza underneath the Brooklyn Bridge at 11 Water Street! THe festival starts at 10:00am and the last admission is at 3:30pm.
