How to Make a Subway Map with John Tauranac
Hear from an author and map designer who has been creating maps of the NYC subway, officially and unofficially, for over forty years!
We recently covered ten fun examples of the yarnbombing street art trend in New York City, and yesterday we spotted HOTTEA installing a new work along Mulberry Street! The artist quickly wove his pattern into this parking lot fence between Hester and Canal, as passersby turned and stared. We stood and watched the peaceful process along with his photographers. The equally peaceful finished product stands in stark contrast with Ron English’s four-story Temper Tot that stands in the background. Our first introduction to HOTTEA was his colorful decoration of the Williamsburg Bridge, and we have been fans ever since.
