Monday April 28th
NYC v. SF: At Powerhouse Arena in Brooklyn, two artists rep their respective cities in two illustrated collections, in conversation with Maria Popova of Brain Pickings. Part of the Drawn Cities series.
Tuesday April 29th
The Skyscraper Museum hosts author James Sanders. who will host a discussion and book signing of his newest edition of Scenes of The City: Filmmaking in New York. The newest edition adds films and television from the last decade and includes behind the scenes photos from studio archives.
Tonight is also Raising the Bar, where there are 50 talks at 50 bars in one night, all free! Check out what’s left here.
Wednesday April 30th
It’s International Jazz Day and what better place to appreciate the music than at a speakeasy in the East Village? The Red Room is hosting the Seth Meyers Trio + special guests. Mixologist, Kyle Kruger has created jazz influenced cocktail pairings and internationally acclaimed chef Patricia Clark offers a one of kind Jazz themed menu using local farmers market ingredients crafted with eclectic techniques.
Sopranos creator David Chase will be on hand at The Museum of The Moving Image, to discuss (what else) The Sopranos. The museum will screen the first and (very controversial) last episode, with a candid discussion of the vision Chase had for the groundbreaking HBO drama.
Thursday May 1st
When people think of PBR they think of cheap beer and bad decisions. They also think of the iconic red, white and blue can. The street artists of NYC have gotten a ton of these cans in their possession and put their unique takes on the classic beer can. Friday May 2nd
The Summer comes early to Tompkins Square Park as the first Play-diem free concert series takes place. Free music and more are to be expected here in the first of many shows happening over the next few months.
Saturday May 3rd
It’s the 7th Annual “Marathon Day,” where a group of die-hard New Yorkers drink 26.2 drinks in a tour of the 5 Boroughs. Here’s the Facebook invite which contains the schedule of bars for the day and previous coverage on Untapped.
Kickstarter is hosting an all day block party in Greenpoint. The company offers tours of their offices, an Oculus Rift presentation, live music and much more. For more information, head over to their event page.
The Greater Astoria Historical Society is giving people a tour of Prospect Park in Brooklyn. The guides will expose you to many of the park’s secrets including the Maryland and Lafayette Monument, the Music Pagoda Boathouse and more.
The Brooklyn performance and art-space Littlefield is hosting an all day event in memory of Adam Yauch a.k.a MCA. The tribute to the fallen Beastie Boy will have sets dedicated to the Beastie Boys, artwork and much more.

Happy Star Wars Day! To learn some history about a war that did not take place in galaxy far far away, Other World Tours hosts The Battle For Brooklyn. It is a look back over 200 years ago, when the streets of Brooklyn were rampant with Colonial and British Soldiers during the first battles of the Revolutionary War.
