On Saturday June 21st, the North Brooklyn Boat Club will be celebrating the longest day of the year with food, drinks and live music at their boatyard on Newtown Creek. Come down and check out the facilities, talk to members, and enjoy beautiful views of Midtown from the boat launch. Set to play on top of the shipping containers are Whiskey Bitches , Puppies, Metorana,Throw Vision, and Late Cambrian.
For those not familiar, North Brooklyn Boat Club is a group dedicated to enabling and advocating for human-powered boating on the waterways bordering Greenpoint/Williamsburg Brooklyn. The organization enables local citizens to be effective stewards of the ecology, recreation and freedom that the waterways engender. We have previously covered their overnight circumnavigation of Manhattan.
$5 will get you access in, and all cash spent on food and drinks will go towards benefiting the club’s mission of environmental outreach and awesome paddling in the New York Harbor. Party is open from 6:00 p.m. to 1 a.m. at 49 Ash Street in Greenpoint, Brooklyn.
