Weiner Rover-Weinermobile-Oscar Mayer-National Hot Dog Day-NYC

Yesterday was National Hot Dog Day and we randomly¬†caught the unveiling of the latest Oscar Mayer Wienermobile, this one a miniature version of the large touring hot dog shaped vehicle. Spotted in Hudson River Park, the remote control “Weiner Rover” (with license plate WNR ROVR) was actually getting its own video shoot. The Weiner Rover opens up to reveal, you guessed it, hot dogs. There were even some slots for those necessary condiments, ketchup and mustard.

While the Weiner Rover was relatively calm along the pier yesterday, (though zipping along quickly when not the object of adoration), as you can see from the official video below it’s an all terrain vehicle and can go off-road, jump over grills, plow through perfectly set up barbecues, and more. Jalopnik also spent some time with it on the streets in Soho. One of the reps presenting told us there’s also a MINI Cooper version of the Weinermobile.
