The New York City Dîner en Blanc, a pop-up dinner for thousands will return for its 7th edition on Tuesday, August 22nd. The event, which began in Paris, has since expanded around the globe to nearly 80 cities. This year’s dinner in New York City is planned for 5000 guests and will be, as always, in a secret location unveiled only at the last minute. Registration begins on Monday, August 8th, first for guests who attended in previous years followed by additional phases for sponsored friends of attendees and then for the 45,000 person waitlist.

For those who have not seen or attended the event before – beyond logistics, the idea is to have a shared, magical moment in a public place. Guests bring their own tables, chairs, table settings and food (or you can order food from the on site caterer) and are brought to the site by teams of leaders. Set up takes minutes and then for a few hours, strangers and friends partake in festivities which include not only the seated dinner but also a dance party and performances.

Previous locations for the dinner have included Bryant Park, Lincoln Center, Battery Park City and more. Last year, the event was held in Nelson A. Rockefeller Park in Lower Manhattan, with views of the Statue of Liberty.

Interested? Get on the waitlist or find a friend who attended last year to get your invite!
