Party likes it’s 1789! A new event will commemorate George Washington’s inauguration and the country’s first capital inside Federal Hall, the site of where it all happened, with historic food, drink and period entertainment. Savor a splendid feast of 18th century and modern recipes, sip colonial cocktails and beverages, dance through the centuries from 18th century to today, and enjoy a historical presentation about George Washington’s first inauguration at Federal Hall.
The evening features The Hearts of Oak Independent Militia Company (of which Alexander Hamilton was Captain), The Ministers of Apollo and to round out the evening, the more modern musical stylings of DJ Huzzah! Guests are encouraged to wear either black tie or their 18th century best for a time-traveling, one-of-a-kind evening. There will also be an announcement about a newly founded non-profit and upcoming, similarly styled history projects and events by National Park Service volunteer and hostess of the event, Lindsey R. Mullholand.
