[Due to the inclement weather this weekend, Urban Archive Hunt of Yorkville/East Harlem has been postponed until further notice.]

Uncover layers of New York City history by embarking on a scavenger hunt filled with stories of lost buildings, historic locations and photos from museum collections. Urban Archive, a new location-based mobile platform, is on a mission to change the way people experience the city by taking users on an exciting quest through New York neighborhoods. This weekend, join the Hunt of Yorkville/East Harlem on May 19th (now postponed) and of the Green-Wood Cemetery on May 20th, which both start at 2pm.

Much like our own mission to help New Yorkers rediscovery their city, Urban Archive’s objective is to empower users to learn about history where it happened. The app serves as a resource that brings together the digital collections of New York City’s museums, archives, and libraries — all in the palm of your hand. All you’ll need to participate is at least one team member with an iPhone (iOS 10.0+), the Urban Archive app (download here), and a pair of comfortable walking shoes. (Prizes will be awarded at the end too!) Learn more here.
