The culinary talents of Jonah Reider, the creator of Pith, a communal pop-up supper club, and the artsy playfulness of KidSuper (Colm Dillane), a fashion designer and multi-media artist, have come together to create a specialty popcorn stand pop-up inside the KidSuper creative space in Tribeca. At the Pop Pop pop-up, you can enjoy seasonally flavored popcorn in varieties like green mango and urfa chili, late season strawberry, coconut sugar, parmesan and peppercorn, and green tea and lime leaf and bay laurel.

Pop Pop can be found inside the KidSuper creative space at 310 Canal Street everyday from 11:00am until 6:00pm. In addition to the popcorn stand, inside you will also find a movie theatre and art and fashion show room. The occupation of this space on Canal Street was set up through Wallplay’s On Canal Program. Wallplay is “an experiential arts and innovation network that programs empty retail spaces” connecting “artists, technologists and curators to storefront spaces for cutting-edge collaborations.” Through the On Canal program, twenty storefronts on the street will be activated for at least a year.

Reider tells Untapped Cities that a collaboration between Reider and KidSuper has been in the works for awhile. In college, both Reider and Kid Super were kicked out of their dorms for violating rules in the pursuit of their passions: Reider for running supper club out of his Columbia dorm room and KidSuper for spray painting and turning his NYU dorm room into a store. Reider now runs Pith out of a chic Brooklyn townhouse and KidSuper has a storefront and brand headquarters in Williamsburg. Head to Pop Pop for a taste of both of the work from both of these young creatives!
