The arrival of pieces of the “2019” sign that will top One Times Square along with the iconic ball have kicked of preparation for New York City’s big New Year’s Eve celebration. Before they are placed high above Times Square, the “1” and “9” numerals will be on street level, right by the TKTS stand, for people to take photographs with!

The two numerals each stand seven feet tall and are covered in lights. The pieces were brought into the plaza at Times Square on Wednesday evening by workers from Landmark Sign and Electric Maintenance, the company that fabricates and installs the signs every year.

While you’re at the sign, you can also write a wish on a piece of confetti that will be drop at midnight on New Year’s Eve! You can visit the “1” and “9” pieces and snap a picture now until December 20th!
