The Bellewether, a massive 8,000 square foot space in the middle of midtown, is one of the last remaining secret spaces in Manhattan, and you can go inside with Untapped Cities! To celebrate the one year anniversary of our Untapped Cities Insiders program, we are hosting a special evening at The Bellewether with the help of our friends at The Vanderbilt Republic, the creative force behind spaces like the Gowanus Loft where they produce unique artistic experiences. On this special visit to The Bellewether, guests will tour the unique raw space which spans three buildings, with the venue’s creative director and executive producer, George Del Barrio, and get an exclusive preview of its first major installation, an immersive experience created in conjunction with Circular City Week New York. There will also be complimentary drinks and time to meet and mingle with fellow Insiders and Untapped Cities staff. You can attend this free celebration if you are an Untapped Cities Insider. Circular City Week New York, an initiative of Danish Clean Tech, is a week long festival which will explore the necessity for a new circular economic model. The associated Bellewether installation that guests will get to preview before the series will be hand picked from a selection of proposals by individual artists, entrepreneurs, groups, social/NGO and visionaries working in a wide range of creative fields submitted to Vanderbilt Republic’s open call for immersive experiences to transform the space.
