Are you in the market for a taxidermy bat? Or an antique ouija board? Maybe a handmade candle that smells like the fresh cut lawn of a cemetery? Those items are just a few examples of the wonderfully bizarre things you will find at the Oddities Flea Market’s Spring Rites. The two-day Flea Market is a seasonal event in Brooklyn that brings together vendors from across the country with peculiar goods to sell. The merchandise at the fair ranges from taxidermy and antique medical ephemera to custom made-jewelry, home goods and more. After the market, guests can continue to embrace the weird at the Oddities Flea Market Official After-Party. If you are an Untapped Cities Insider, you can attend the Oddities Flea Market with a VIP pass and gain admittance to the Official After Party on April 6th, for free. Not an Insider yet? The Oddities Flea Market was created by the husband and wife team of Ryan Matthew Cohn and Regina Marie Cohn in 2017. Their individual creative backgrounds and shared experiences in buying, creating, and restoring rare antiques and artifacts  (predominantly of the osteological kind) make them the perfect pair to curate and run the alternative flea market. Since the market’s launch, it has grown to take over three floors of the Brooklyn Bazaar, a former banquet hall in Greenpoint.

After a morning of perusing all of the strange and unusual items for sale, market shoppers are invited to the Official After-Party presented by Oddities Flea Market and Atlas Obscura. Also located within the Brooklyn Bazaar, the evening will feature live musical and other surprising live performances, a spirit photography photo booth, DJ music and a raffle with the chance to win items from featured Oddities vendors. Pre-sale VIP tickets for both days of the Oddities Flea Market Spring Rites, which allow VIPs to enter the market two hours before general ticket holders, and tickets to the after-party are on sale now. Find out how you can attend both events for free if you are an Untapped Cities Insider!
