How to Make a Subway Map with John Tauranac
Hear from an author and map designer who has been creating maps of the NYC subway, officially and unofficially, for over forty years!
Last year, the New York Public Library offered a tongue-in-cheek Black Friday deal offering a “100% off coupon” and even “free returns.” This year’s NYPL Black Friday ad offers “100% off books” for “unlimited time only” on a special Black Friday web page that proclaims that “All Books are LITERALLY free. The page also helps you search for items in the NYPL collection, organized by topics like “for Bingewatchers,” “For your commute,” “For hopeless romantics,” and curations of the best books of the year by different categories.
We’ve been a proud partner of the New York Public Library, which has offered wonderful tours of the New York Public Library system for our Untapped New York Insiders this year, including behind-the-scenes looks inside the iconic Stephen A. Schwartzman building (the “Main Branch”), the The Library for the Performing Arts and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture. We were very excited to see the beautifully renovated and new Center for Research in the Humanities in the main branch that was unveiled in October. Stay tuned for new experiences within the NYPL system for 2020 for Insiders members and become a member today.
And don’t forget: Untapped New York is offering its own Black Friday deal: Buy one get one ticket 50% off on nearly all of our tours! Next, discover the Secrets of the New York Public Library’s main branch!
