Today from 2-4:30 PM, the Waterfront Alliance symposium, “Rising to Resilience” goes virtual. While the Waterfront Conference, originally scheduled for May 12, has been postponed to later in the fall, the Waterfront Alliance is bringing everyone a preview this afternoon, including an introduction to a campaign for resilience spearheaded by Waterfront Alliance, that will be launched and led in partnership with broad coalition this summer.

The COVID-19 pandemic has amplified the importance of civic preparedness to prevent catastrophe. Collective strategies to weather both literal and figurative storms will be at the center of this webinar. A slate of prominent speakers from the public and private sector in New York and New Jersey including Roland Lewis, CEO and President, Waterfront Alliance, Peggy Shepard, WEACT for Environmental Justice, Pete Kasabach, New Jersey Future, Natalie Snider, Environmental Defense Fund, Amy Chester, Rebuild by Design, Heather Morgan, AECOM will discuss how to move the dial on comprehensive, just, and meaningful resilience reforms and investments at the city, state, and federal levels.

You can register here for the event! Untapped New York is a media sponsor for today’s virtual symposium. Please also join us today at noon for the virtual talk on the Dyckman Farmhouse, Manhattan’s last remaining farmhouse.
