Today at noon, we’ll be hosting our first virtual event in our new partnership with Brick & Wonder, a membership collective whose mission is to “connect real estate and design professionals around the world and give them the knowledge, inspiration and support to grow.” In this virtual talk, architect and Brick & Wonder member Karin Payson will discuss “Tactile Modernism,” what happens in architectural design when we forego the idea of dominating a landscape in favor of integrating both the environment of a building site and positive “user experience” into the equation. She will describe the synthesis of formal and intuitive approaches that inform her design projects. The result is an approach where spatial geometry, function and feel of a place – rather than “fashion” are primordial in creating comfortable, timeless living spaces.

As part of the Brick & Wonder membership, members can attend workshops, roundtable discussions, and site visits, which have included looks behind the scenes at the new restaurant atop 70 Pine, the new Waldorf Astoria Hotel and Residences, and more. Upcoming Brick & Wonder events include a workshop on Food, Design & Influence on July 16th (open to the public), a roundtable on Creative Capital, and a site visit to Material ConneXion in September.
