New Yorkers yearning for a new good read can now pick up books from thirty neighborhood branches of the New York Public Library. Eight branches reopened for grab-and-go service back in July – Belmont Library, Francis Martin Library,  Parkchester Library, George Bruce Library, Epiphany Library, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Library Richmondtown Library and Todt Hill–Westerleigh Library– and this week twenty-two additional sites have opened for readers to pick up and return their library loans.

Along with the locations listed below which opened on August 3rd, The Brooklyn and Queens Public Library systems plan to open additional locations beginning on Monday, August 10. Guests can request books online or by phone for contactless pickup. Everyone picking up a book must wear a mask and maintain a safe social distance from library staff and other patrons. Books that are returned to the library will be quarantined for ninety-six hours before being recirculated. Research libraries, including the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building, continue to remain temporarily closed during these initial reopening phases.
