Starting now, a limited amount of Pride-Themed Metrocards will be available at select subway stations throughout New York City. The cards will be distributed throughout the month of June while supplies last. There are 50,000 Pride-Themed MetroCards up for grabs! In addition to the newly designed MetroCards, the MTA will also show its love for Pride Month with rainbow decals on its vehicles and special public programs.
While commuting on subways, buses, or rails, New Yorkers will see Pride posters and decals proudly on display. The heart-shaped stickers are plastered on the outside of 50 subway cars that run along the 1, A, L, and 7 lines through Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx. The stickers will also appear on 50 Metro-North cars, 50 LIRR cars, and 50 Bridges and Tunnels maintenance cars.
The MTA’s special edition LGBTQ+ Pride-Themed MetroCards will be available at vending machines located at six subway stations across Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens including West 4 St – Washington Square, 59 St – Columbus Circle, Grand St, 74 – Broadway / Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av, 125 St and Christopher St – Sheridan Square.

On June 25th, MTA employees, including New York City Transit President Richard Davey, will march in New York City’s 2023 LGBTQ+ Pride Parade. You can use the MTA’s helpful guide to find out the best way to use public transit to get to various Pride events that will be happening throughout the month, including a special TransitTalk on Tuesday, June 20 at the Christopher Street station where the MTA leadership team will hear directly from the LGTBQ+ community from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. This year’s limited edition designs are available for purchase at the NY Transit Museum stores and online.
