In Untapped New York’s brand new “Rediscover Your City” tour series, you’ll see a side of NYC you never knew existed! These NYC tours are made with New Yorkers in mind and tailored specifically to locals. New locations and topics not covered on our signature public walking tours offer something new to explore even if you’ve been on an adventure with us before. This summer, we kick off the series by venturing into Central Park to uncover the hidden gems of NYC’s most famous green space, traveling to Grand Central Madison to visit new and little-known works of art, and stepping inside an abandoned brewery for an exclusive-access photoshoot!
Rediscover Your City Tours are led by Untapped New York’s expert and licensed tour guides who call NYC home. The places we visit on these tours will change seasonally and cover a variety of topics from architecture and art to transit and history.
On our first tour of the series, we’ll explore the untapped side of Central Park. With the help of our guide, you’ll locate a tightly guarded secret remnant of NYC’s grid survey, visit the location of a former ladies-only ice rink (now a gorgeous gazebo), walk through an often-overlooked cathedral of trees, and so much more! You can book your tickets here for tours running from August through September.
Untapped Central Park Walking Tour
On our Art of Grand Central Madison tour, you’ll discover art you never knew existed inside the historic train terminal. You’ll ride New York’s longest escalator, uncover an art installation rarely seen behind the tracks, learn the story behind new monumental works of art by famous names like Kiki Smith and Yayoi Kusama, and more. Reserve your spot here for tours in September and October.
The Art of Grand Central Madison
On our premiere photo tour, guests will gain exclusive access inside the abandoned William Ulmer Brewery, a 19th-century landmark in Brooklyn set to be renovated this fall. Guests on this experience will be some of the last people to see the brewery in its raw state before it is restored by DXA Studios. You’ll have access to multiple levels of the brewhouse, from the underground beer vaults to the rooftop! Professional photographer Andrea Phox and her assistant will be on hand to help you capture the best shot. Limited spots are available for August!
