Saturday, May 25th – Hard Hat Tour of Ellis Island’s Abandoned Hospital

Explore the abandoned Ellis Island Hospital complex which has served as a medical facility, a US Coast Guard base, and an FBI detention center, then was left to decay for nearly 60 years. Now, Untapped New York has partnered with Save Ellis Island to create an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour where you will explore the laundry building, contagious disease wards, autopsy rooms, and more off-limits spaces.

This tour runs on Saturdays and select Sundays!

Sunday, May 26th – Fifth Ave Gilded Age Mansion Tour

Sunday, May 26th – World’s Fair Fanfare


Celebrate the 60th anniversary of the 1964 World’s Fair by joining Untapped New York’s Chief Experience Officer Justin Rivers on a historic site tour with pop-up performances from Queensboro Dance Festival representing countries present at the World’s Fair, including China, Africa, Philippines, Caribbean, Greece, and Ireland. This special event, presented by Queens Theatre, also in partnership with World’s Fair Historian Bill Cotter and Queens Economic Development Corporation, starts at 2:00 PM at the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. This event is free! No tickets needed!

Wednesday, May 29th – After-Hours Tour of “Wonder City” at Post House

The term “Wonder City” had been applied to other cities across the globe before, but in 1914 New York claimed it on a souvenir booklet. In the new exhibit at Poster House, Wonder City of the World: New York City Travel Posters, visitors can see the various ways artists and advertisers have used imagery and words to entice travelers, immigrants, and tourists to come to the five boroughs for nearly a hundred years.

Join an after-hours tour of the exhibit led by Es-pranza Humphrey, Assistant Curator of Collections! This tour is free for Untapped New York Insiders!
