Atlantic City’s coveted real estate properties of Boardwalk, Park Place, and Atlantic Ave featured in the classic MONOPOLY board game have been replaced by iconic Queens sites including Astoria Park, Eddie’s Sweet Shop, and the Unisphere in the newly released MONOPOLY: Queens Edition, from Hasbro and Top Trumps USA Inc., a USA division of Winning Moves International. The new board game celebrates historic landmarks, cultural sites, charitable organizations, and beloved local businesses of the diverse New York City borough.

The game maker took thousands of submissions from local Queens residents and businesses for suggestions on which locations to include in the game. You’ll see local establishments like Neir’s Tavern and The World’s Borough Bookshop alongside cultural institutions like Queens Museum and Culture Lab LIC, as well as famous sites like JFK International Airport, Rockaway Beach, and the USTA Stadium.
Community Chest and Chance Cards take you on Queens-specific adventures such as taking a hayride through the Queens County Farm or having soup dumplings in Chinatown. While you amass your real estate empire and enjoy all Queens has to offer, you’ll still have to pay loans (to Ridgewood Savings Bank) and utilities (to Con Edison). There’s also that dreaded “Go to Jail” square!
The game is currently sold out online, with new orders expected to start being fulfilled starting December 6th. 2024. You can purchase the game online or at local retailers including Queens Center, Forest Hills Stadium, Eddie’s Sweet Shop, Neir’s Tavern, New Park Pizza, Queens Night Market, The World’s Borough Bookshop, Kew & Willow Books, Queens County Farm Museum, Astoria Animal Society, Ridgewood Savings Bank, and the Louis Armstrong Museum.
