New Film Shows How Art Brings Life to Green-Wood Cemetery
Discover how the living and the dead make Green-Wood Cemetery a vibrant part of NYCs cultural scene!
Author, documentary filmmaker, and photographer John Lazzaro has a passion for abandoned sites in the Empire Site. Through his photography, he puts their individual stories in the larger context of New York’s historical legacy. Whether near his home on Long Island or deep within New York City, Lazzaro has a mission: capture vanishing architecture throughout the United States.
On October 15, join Untapped New York Insiders for a members-only tour of the photography exhibition A Vanishing New York: Ruins Across the Empire State in Northport, NY. On the tour, we will join Lazzaro who will guide us through his exhibition. The event is free for Untapped New York Insiders (get your first month free with code JOINUS). Please note that the gallery is in Northport, New York and not accessible by public transportation.
Artist-Led Tour of ‘A Vanishing New York’
On the tour, Insiders will discover how the photographer researched and shot the locations featured in the book and exhibition. Later, we will learn the unique New York histories behind the sites in the photographs. After the tour, Insiders will have the opportunity to attend the book premier and photography exhibition opening and purchase a signed copy of John Lazzaro’s latest book, A Vanishing New York: Ruins Across the Empire State.
