How to Make a Subway Map with John Tauranac
Hear from an author and map designer who has been creating maps of the NYC subway, officially and unofficially, for over forty years!
One of the most enjoyable things about living in the city of San Francisco is how visually dynamic it is. There is simply art everywhere, but not in a way that inundates you. The most interesting pieces are hidden away in nooks and crannies, and many people often overlook the “candy” placed in prominent locations. ART on STREETS highlights this city’s art through the lens of a “Polaroid” camera (except it’s an app on the phone).
Today we are checking out the artwork on the front wall of Dolores Park Café, which is across the street from”¦you guessed it”¦San Francisco’s famous Dolores Park. If you are ever looking for something to do on a sunny day, this park is where you’ll find it-and run into all of your friends along the way. While you are there, take a look at this mural located on Dolores just south of 18th Street, above the patio seating for the café. Be sure to also check out the art inside the café-when you pop in for that much-needed iced tea.
