Amsterdam really is amazing for architecture. This building, the Nemo, is home to Amsterdam’s Science Center. More a name for an Aquarium, and in fact it sits jutting out into the water on the edge of the city, it’s really quite an eye catching building. You can approach from two directions, via the Library (another awesome building) or from the road.  Both are an easy walk from Amsterdam Central Station.

As I went in, inside the Science Center there was an explosion of kids. The hands-on section is quite close to  where you enter, so don’t get put off! The exhibitions run on about four floors and are nicely laid out. All of the information, games, interactive bits etc. have all English translations, with each sign in Dutch with the English translation underneath -making the Nemo Amsterdam exhibitions perfect for the international traveler!
