Vintage 1970s Photos Show Lost Sites of NYC's Lower East Side
A quest to find his grandmother's birthplace led Richard Marc Sakols on a mission to capture his changing neighborhood on film.
Crowds at Forest Hills Stadium in Queens have cheered for (and booed) both tennis champions and rockstars over the course of the building’s 100-year history! Built in 1923, the stadium was home to the U.S. Open tennis tournament for more than fifty years. In the 1960s, the stadium began to book concerts with major stars like The Rolling Stones, Frank Sinatra, and The Beatles. After a period of dormancy from the late 1990s to 2013, the Stadium continues to rock, hosting concerts with artists like Ed Sheeran, Willie Nelson, Duran Duran, and more. On July 12th, you can join Untapped New York Insiders for a backstage tour of the historic venue!
