Nothing excites us more than the immersive cinematic events hosted by BBQ Films. In the past, we’ve attended Beetlejuice’s wedding at the House of Yes in Bushwick, and stepped back in time as American Psycho was brought to life beneath the Tribeca Grand Hotel. Now, BBQ Films is taking on Mean Girls by remaking the Winter Talent Show on December 14th. You’re invited, but make sure to come dressed in pink (it falls on a Wednesday after all).
The one-day event, which includes an immersive screening of Mean Girls, will transform the Brooklyn Night Bazaar in Greenpoint, Brooklyn into the North Shore High School auditorium. You’ll have the opportunity to roam the halls of NSHS, where you can purchase candy grams for charity and interact with your standard high school assemblage: the Plastics, varsity jocks and the “sexually-active band geeks” included. Rajiv Surrenda (Kevin G of the Mathletes) will also make a special on-stage appearance in celebration of his art and his newly released memoir, The Elephants in My Backyard.
Instead of passively watching a movie, BBQ Films invites participants to experience and celebrate stories that are important to our society. With this lighthearted, anti-bullying show, you’ll be teleported back to 2004. Ticket details are below:
