About this Event:
Architect Richard Roth Jr. always talked about writing a book about his life and career at the family architecture firm of Emery Roth & Sons. Though he wrote a few chapters, his memoir was never complete.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Richard sat down for a series of exclusive virtual interviews with Untapped New York's Chief Experience Officer Justin Rivers. It was through those interviews that Richard and his daughter Robyn connected with Jo Holmes, a UK-based writer who took up the task of completing Richard's biography.
Throughout the course of 2025, Untapped New York will publish a series of essays from Holmes about Richard's life and career titled Behind the Curtain Wall. The essays will be accompanied by virtual talks and tours kicking off on March 12th!
During this live-streamed tour, guests will get a sneak peek at future essays from Holmes' series, learn about the unique architecture of Emery Roth & Sons buildings in Lower Manhattan, and gain behind-the-scenes insights!
