Join us for a cozy evening with live music, literary discussion, and cocktails!
The Lit Salon, the acclaimed evening of literary discussion, live music, and specialty cocktails (as seen on CNN), returns this month! Hosted inside Maison Brooklyn, the historic Brooklyn townhome of Untapped New York founder Michelle Young, The Lit Salon highlights bestselling and acclaimed authors on their newest book releases.
First up on April 22nd is Colum McCann, the National Book Award-winning author of Let the Great World Spin. His newest book, Twist takes readers to the bottom of the ocean, where underwater cables transport the world’s data—our emails, text messages, and communiques. It’s a propulsive novel about rupture and repair in the digital age—topics we’ve been thinking deeply about personally these days—delving into a hidden world deep under the ocean.
This evening will be extra special with The Knights, the Grammy-nominated orchestral ensemble, curating and performing the music, all inspired by Twist. All proceeds from this salon will benefit The Knights, who are doing incredibly forward-thinking and meaningful community work. All guests will get also get 15% discount to The Knights’ next concert at Carnegie Hall in May. As always, a custom cocktail, also inspired by the book, will be served, along with wine.
Then, on June 4th, The Lit Salon will conjure up 1940s Paris and feature Untapped New York founder Michelle Young on the release of her new book, The Art Spy: The Extraordinary Untold Tale of WWII Resistance Hero Rose Valland. Tickets are already half sold out, so get yours now!
