NYC's "Candy Warhol" Makes Wonka-Inspired Halloween Treats
Every day is Halloween at this Brooklyn shop where fresh candy is handmade in the back!
If you are looking to take the best Instagram shot or make all of your relatives jealous with the most exciting holiday portrait, book a confetti filled photoshoot with The Confetti Project in Brooklyn. The Project will be hosting monthly open studio sessions in New York City where anyone can come in for a confetti-flinging photo-shoot that is sure to rack up the likes. But unlike other Insta-worthy pop-ups, The Confetti Project has a purpose beyond capturing a perfectly posed shot; it’s about celebrating life. Confetti Project creator Jelena Aleksich founded the Project as a way to celebrate those in her life who had been diagnosed with cancer, including both her roommate and her father. Before every photoshoot, Aleksich does a quick interview with her subjects to find out what they want to celebrate in their lives. Then the confetti flies!

Aleksich captures beautifully joyful and colorful candid shots of her subjects’ during their ten minute personal confetti celebration. Over two hundred people, including cancer survivors, artists, and people who just want to celebrate the day, have doused themselves in confetti so far as part of the project. The Confetti Project describes itself as photography brand that provides “a visual study on human identity and a space for unencumbered expression…that brings back the divine art of play, surrendering to the present moment and celebrating yourself amidst every moment of your precious, mortal life.” After the photoshoot, guests can visit the confetti apothecary and take home confetti to keep the celebration going.
Photoshoots for individuals, couples and or small groups can be scheduled at The Confetti Project’s new 500-square-foot space in Brooklyn for Sunday, November 18th, Saturday, December 15, or Saturday, December 29, between 2:00pm through 6:00pm. You can book your photoshoot here!
