City Boy Coffee invites Untapped New York members to immerse themselves in the world of coffee at a hands-on cupping class inside City Boy Coffee's Queens roastery. The expert team will take you on a two-hour journey through the history, biology, and diverse flavors of coffee. You'll delve into the fascinating world of coffee beans, processing methods, and roasting profiles, gaining a deeper appreciation for the craft. The highlight is mastering the professional cupping technique–a sensory evaluation used by industry experts to assess the quality and nuanced flavors of coffee. It's an unforgettable experience for coffee enthusiasts and curious beginners alike.
About Matt Falber
Matt Falber, an award-winning coffee roaster and actor, founded City Boy Coffee in New York City. The company is known for its monthly coffee subscription service that takes customers on a global coffee journey, featuring beans from a different country every month. Falber’s passion for coffee was ignited during a trip to Italy, leading him to explore various coffee-growing regions and even create a web series about coffee farming in Guatemala. This dedication to his craft and innovative roasting techniques have garnered him recognition, including two recent Bronze medals at the 2024 Golden Bean Awards. Ethical sourcing is a cornerstone of City Boy Coffee, with Falber fostering close relationships with farmers to ensure fair practices. Falber regularly engages with the coffee community through educational events and initiatives, and when he's not roasting, he performs with Second City in Brooklyn.

In-person Insider tours may have limited capacity and are booked on a first come, first served basis.
But don’t worry! Sometimes spots open up closer to the event date if there are cancellations. We also repeat our most popular events when possible so you will have another opportunity to join us. There are also multiple other members-only events weekly that you can join in!
If you cancel more than 48 hours ahead of the scheduled event, you will receive a 100%. When canceled less than 48 hours before the start of your tour, you will receive a gift card that can be used on any future events. Please be courteous to your fellow Insiders and let us know if you can no longer attend so we can offer your spot to another person.
