Constance Rosenblum’s new book, Habitats: Private Lives in the Big Citylooks at the almost invisible lives of New Yorkers behind closed doors, in their homes. Taking a cross-section of dwellings, ranging from lofts, to Park Avenue mansions to shoebox apartments, she tells the story of New York through its people and their abodes. A writer for the New York Times Real Estate section, Rosenblum explores the many types of homes that New Yorkers occupy, offering a multifaceted portrait of what it means to live within a community in one of the biggest cities in the world.
