An instrumentalist and a perfumer make up the unlikely duo of Cosmic Gardens, a French Brooklyn-based performance group founded in 2019. The pair use sights, sounds, and smells to create multi-sensory performances that invigorate the senses and take participants both outside of this world and deeper into it.
On Saturday, April 19th, from 7:00 PM to 1:00 AM, Cosmic Gardens will bring their immersive show to Loft Story in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The experience will take listeners on a journey from the oceans to the cosmos through ear-tingling sounds, stunning visuals, custom-crafted scents, and signature cocktails and mocktails.
The journey starts in the water as blue light bathes the stage, the smell of saltwater fills the air, and the music envelopes you like the waves of the ocean. The feeling shifts as Cosmic Gardens leads the audience next to a lush, green rainforest and finally to the starry cosmos.
Using the mystery of the cosmos and the steadiness of nature as inspirations, the duo creates a vibrant one-of-a-kind experience that is both soothing and enlightening.
In an attempt to tackle the problems looming within society and the world today, Cosmic Gardens creates music with the intent to transport listeners outside of the chaos and into a calm mindset where they can contemplate themes of identity, humanity, and nature.
The duo dubs their music Organic Indietronica, a genre that artfully blends guitars, drums, and keys with the other-worldly sounds of electronic beats and synthesizers. Gathering inspiration from the iconic sounds of Daft Punk, Rone, and M83, Cosmic Gardens has cultivated a loyal fanbase and performed at venues around New York City, including Lincoln Center and the Avant Gardner, as well as at venues in Paris.
