In our series NYC v. Paris, we previously covered all the Statues of Liberty in both cities. Today, we’re looking at the Eiffel Tower. It might surprise you to know that New York City has its own Eiffel Tower replica. It’s pretty small, but it has a prominent location…just off the Long Island Expressway in Queens.
The Eiffel Tower belongs to Paris Hotel Suites, and there are more Eiffel Towers on the ground floor windows and in the parking lot. According to the hotel description, Paris Hotel Suites is “a veritable palace of marble and mirrors the Paris Suites Hotel recreates the ambiance of European culture and elegance.” In reality, the hotel interior is rather painfully decorated with a smattering of “European” decor and awkward sculptures.
