New Film Shows How Art Brings Life to Green-Wood Cemetery
Discover how the living and the dead make Green-Wood Cemetery a vibrant part of NYCs cultural scene!
If you’ve ever composed rage-tweets about your perpetually delayed morning commute, join us on a deep dive into the history of the MTA with Why Your Train is F*cked, presented by Caveat. Untapped Cities Insiders are invited to this FREE event on Wednesday, May 23rd at 7pm (doors at 6:30pm), with hosts Meg Pierson (TEDx, Alchemy Comedy) and Justin Williams (City College, SirusXM), along with a mysterious anonymous ghostwriter (a city employee), who will conduct the show through the twists and turns of history, revealing unbelievable stories, subway life-hacks, and truly upsetting details about our subway system.
For the first show, “Episode 1: Bedlam on Wheels – MTA Origins,” guests will go back to the 1830s and learn about the shady deals going down in New York City politics that kept a 19th century Elon Musk from making a subway happen, the pros and cons of horse-drawn mass transit, and the mysterious Subway Microbe that New Yorkers worried would kill them all.
