Vintage 1970s Photos Show Lost Sites of NYC's Lower East Side
A quest to find his grandmother's birthplace led Richard Marc Sakols on a mission to capture his changing neighborhood on film.
If a drone captured the New York Public Library’s first scavenger hunt three years ago that we attended, it would have seen some 500 people frantically searching for the hundred treasures buried within the library’s seventy miles of stacks. But Nate Bolt of boltron.com shot the first ever drone footage inside of the NYPL in cooperation with NYPL Labs. While the library is normally a place of quiet and solitude, it was especially empty during this night as the library workers reorganized shelves and visitors silently went about their work. The camera swoops in and up through Astor Hall and into the iconic reading room in a marvelous slo-mo.
