Virtual Tour: Behind the Scenes at The City Reliquary Museum
Join us for a virtual tour of New York City's cabinet of curiosities, the City Reliquary Museum! This small storefront in Williamsburg houses an eclectic collection of artifacts reflecting everyday life in the city - items often forgotten, discarded, or overlooked. Seltzer bottles, schist core samples, fragments of a vanished art installation, World's Fair ephemera, and a burnt-out lightbulb from the Statue of Liberty's torch are just some of the objects in our collection. Each item tells an important story of New York's history and the people who make it the greatest city in the world. On this tour led by Beth Haines, the museum's Assistant Director, you'll get a close look at these artifacts, including some that are rarely on view, and hear about how this collection came to be.
