Virtual Tour: The Forts of Central Park

Central Park blockhouseFort Clinton canon

Discover the North End of Central Park, which has a mystique of its own because it’s so far removed from Midtown and the more heavily-visited areas of the park. We'll be taking a walk with licensed NYC tour guide and former Central Park Conservancy guide, Beth Goffe, and learn about events that occurred there in three separate centuries. See where encampments from two wars were situated and, during a third, the former convent where injured soldiers were treated. Explore a memorial to the “father of New York City” and learn about the geography that distinguishes the North End from the park’s southern section. Its beauty and unusual history make it a truly special place to visit.

This live event is organized exclusively for Untapped New York's Insiders and will be broadcasted via Zoom. Insiders will have the ability to ask questions in a Q&A section at the end. Can't join this live virtual event? Don't worry, a video of the event will be made available to all our Insiders afterwards in the Virtual Content section of our website.
