On March 11th, 2020, Hudson Yards will open the highest outdoor sky deck in the Western Hemisphere, and Untapped New York readers will be among the first to experience it on opening day! Rising 1,100 feet above the street, extending out 80 feet from the 100th floor of 30 Hudson Yards, Edge is a 7,500 square foot outdoor viewing platform that gives those daring enough to visit 360-degree views of New York City’s skyline. On opening day, Untapped New York’s Chief Experience Officer Justin Rivers will lead a walkthrough of Hudson Yards focused on the architecture and evolution of the area from an industrial rail yard to the largest real estate development in the world. After a swift sixty-second elevator ride, visitors to Edge are greeted with unobstructed views of the New York City skyline and New Jersey that stretch out 80 miles. The perimeter of Edge is lined with nine-foot tall, boldly angled glass walls that enable visitors to lean out over Manhattan. The most thrilling, or terrifying, part of the deck is a 225-square-foot glass floor that allows you to look straight down at the street below.
