Sample a diverse selection of coffees sourced from around the globe, then roasted right here in New York City!
New Yorkers are all too familiar with the city’s daily soundtrack of wailing sirens and rumbling subway cars, so when we previously featured a complaint map of the city, we weren’t surprised that “loud partying” also made it to the top of the list. Now, people in need of some peace and quiet are in luck. The New York Times recently unveiled an interactive map featuring peaceful spots based on user recommendations.
“Finding the Quiet City” has currently over 800 submitted locations, including overlooked spots like Fort Totten and Fort Tilden in Queens, the Cathedral of St John the Divine, and downtown Manhattan’s Elevated Acre. A select few on the map also display short, scenic videos that will immediately transport users to a place of calm.
Know a quiet spot in New York and want to share it? Add it on the map here.
