Last week at the GrowNYC Project Farmhouse next to Union Square, two dozen New York State distilleries (including several from Brooklyn) offered tastings as part of the launch of NYDistilled.com, a new website from the New York State Distillers Guild. Since the first distilleries popped up, like Tuthilltown Distillery, the states’s first whiskey distillery since Prohibition, the industry has grown by leaps and bounds. The new website is, according to the press release, is a “one-stop source of information about craft spirits and their production in New York State, one of the leaders in the burgeoning craft beverages movement.”

You can delve into the history of the distilleries, information about the how the craft spirits are made and how to best appreciate them, But most relevant for our readers however, are the “distillery trails” provided on the website. There are two created so far, one for the Hudson Valley, featuring 14 distilleries, and one for New York City alone, which has 15 distilleries.
