A reader of EVGrieve sent in Rentenna’s NYC Green Heat map which “visualizes the density of sidewalk trees on each block of Manhattan, as well as the locations of Manhattan’s farmers markets and major parks.” The map really serves to support Rentenna’s Green Score for NYC Apartments, which measures proximity to such amenities.
According to Rentenna’s analysis, if farmers markets, street trees and parks are your priority, you should head over to Morningside Heights, Upper West Side (close to the Museum of Natural History), Upper East Side (around 86th and York), Alphabet City and Union Square. Not surprisingly, Times Square, Garment District and the Lower East Side score pretty poorly.
While we see some green gradients in Brooklyn, looks like this map is primarily just of Manhattan, not New York City as a whole.
