Get a happy tingly feeling at the latest show from ARTECHOUSE in the basement of Chelsea Market!
The holiday season can be overwhelming! From the crowded streets to the never-ending shopping lists, there is as much stress around the holidays as there is joy. ARTECHOUSE wants to focus on the joy and bring that warm fuzzy holiday feeling to the next level. At the immersive digital art space's new holiday show, Tingle Bells: An ASMR-Inspired Holiday Special, guests are invited to seek respite from over-stimulation and immerse themselves in soothing whispers, delicate sounds, and entrancing visuals meant to trigger an ASMR response.

ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response. It refers to the pleasurable tingling feeling that usually starts on your scalp and radiates down your spine. Certain sounds or visual stimuli can trigger the feeling. Preliminary studies have shown that the sensation can have a calming effect, even causing physicological effects such as lowering your heart rate.
In Tingle Bells, the ASMR effect is induced by warm and nostalgic holiday visuals along with soft sounds. The main show is divided into three distinct scene blocks featuring festive imagery such as unraveling gift wrap or a cozy living room set with a puppy sleeping soundly in a Santa hat.
The show is projected using state-of-the-art technology that transforms the walls of Chelsea Market's former basement boiler room into an innovative digital art gallery. In addition to the main show, there are a series of interactive installations throughout the space that further explore the ASMR theme.
“When thinking about our holiday show this year, we kept going back to the fact that in 2024, society is in a uniquely heightened state of anxiety, fueled by multiple intersecting factors,” said Sandro Kereselidze, Founder and CCO of ARTECHOUSE. “Our goal is to redefine holiday warmth through ASMR, offering a restorative, personal interaction within a communal space that resonates with the emotional needs of our guests during this charged time. Think of ARTECHOUSE as your ultimate holiday retreat.”
If you still need a little something extra to take the edge off your holiday stress, you can grab a drink at the XR Bar where extended reality fuses art with mixology. The holiday menu includes specialty cocktails like the Champagne Sparkle (a sparkling blend of champagne and apple cider, crowned with a light cloud of cotton candy) and Winter Caramel Sleigh (spiced rum and warm apple cider, swirled with rich caramel and a hint of sea salt, topped with fluffy whipped cream and caramel chunks). Mocktail options are available as well.
Holiday Happy Hour deals are available from November 25 through December 19th, Mondays through Thursdays only, from 3 pm until 6 pm. During Holiday Happy Hours, you can save $10 off your first drink and $5 off every drink after!
