Join Arantxa X. Rodríguez (AXR), visual artist and Mexican immigrant will tell us about the journey through her art-life and how she took a scary leap of faith and switched from a conventional job to becoming an artist.

  • See her latest project, a mural she donated to Lincoln Medical Center in The Bronx. The path that led her to it, her inspirations and how this became a catalyst for her first NFT.

Arantxa X. Rodríguez (AXR), visual artist and Mexican immigrant under an O1 visa will tell us about the journey through her art-life.
How she took a scary leap of faith and switched from a conventional job to becoming an artist. The Hustle, efforts and synchronicities that led her to NYC and how she ended up doing public projects. She will share with us her vision for creating opportunities for other artists and cultural bearers as well as the difference between art that creates culture vs decorative art.

About Arantxa Rodriguez

Arantxa Ximena Rodriguez (AXR) is a Mexican artist currently living in NYC. She has exhibited her work nationally and internationally, including three solo shows in Mexico City. Her work has been exhibited in Galeria Oscar Roman MX in Mexico City. She has exhibited in group shows at the Franz Meyer Museum in Mexico City, the Affordable Art Fair in NYC, CROSSROADS Art show in Shoreditch London, Museo Internazionale
Italia Arte (MIIT) in Turin, and Untitled Art Fair Miami. 

AXR has participated in the United Nations annual exhibition in NYC, and has made two public murals for Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx, funded by The Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund in collaboration with NYC Health+Hospitals, NYFA and the City Artist Corps grant.

AXR’s  work has been reviewed in numerous newspapers in Mexico City, such as Reforma and Excelsior & Universal. She has also been featured in Harper’s Bazaar, and participated in The Women book London. AXR has been interviewed by channels
such as NY1, News 12 and the Bronx Voice in the USA.

AXR holds an MFA in Fine Arts from the School of Visual Arts NYC (SVA), and an undergraduate diploma in Media Communications by Universidad Iberoamericana Mexico, including a yearlong exchange studying business marketing at Regents Business School of London.
